Olive Willis is presently a freshman at East Greenwich High School. She enjoys sand on beaches, sprinkles on ice cream, and running cross-country. Olive plays the guitar and knows a variety of songs from The Beatles to Taylor Swift. She dreams of one day studying environmental science with the intention to become a climate activist or environmental journalist. She has been writing since she was in 3rd grade when she wrote a book about her favorite stuffed animal, and is now working on opinionated pieces and current issue articles. She gets excruciatingly nervous before cross-country meets and big tests, but finds comfort in a nice breeze, anything flavored pumpkin spice, or pictures of the ocean. Despite her inescapable fear of heights, she hopes to one day go skydiving. Her sisters think she’s really weird, but her cat thinks she’s the queen of the universe. You’ll always find her running, whether it’s through a trail, across a finish line, or down the hall to hand a paper in. Her favorite book is Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. Her favorite movie would have to be Nightmare on Elm Street because she secretly thinks Freddy Kruger has a good side. Don’t judge.
