The air is crisp. The leaves are falling. The crowd is cheering. Wait- get out of the way!

A stampede of runners blasts through the woods, tearing up the trail with their spikes. It’s the East Greenwich Avengers: the team that trains, practices, and wins together.

There is only the championship season left, and both boys and girls are expected to do well at their class and state meet. With the amazing top four of Leah Chace, Bryn Shunney, Ana Caliri, and Emma MacDonald, followed by Rachel Berman and Sophia Nula, the girls are predicted to do even better than their 6th place state finish of last year.

The boys team is lead by a strong pack made up of Jeffrey Pederson, Ravi Somvanshi, Cebastian Gentil, Quentin Viera, Dante Prosseda, Alex Maxwell, and Colin Cianciolo. They placed 5th at the state meet last year and are expected to do as well this year.

Here are some of the team’s accomplishments so far, along with the dates of the upcoming meets. Come support the Avengers as they race to the end of their season!
