Rapid Fire with the Incredible Mrs. Izzo

WHAT IS YOUR NAME

Mrs. Izzo

FAVORITE WAY TO SPEND MY TIME:

Near the ocean
Outdoors anywhere, any season
With my husband
With my kids
With my dogs
With my extended family
Learning pretty much anything new
Eating
Cooking

PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENT:

Helping to build a nuclear and extended family that has learned how to enjoy life when times are good and to stand together and strong when times are challenging.

I’D LIKE TO BE REMEMBERED FOR:

Being strong and just and full of life. I am working on all three anyway.

TOP ON MY BUCKET LIST:

Finish writing the books I’ve started.

MOST USED APP:

Well this is embarrassing. Insta. And Audible runs a close second.

I AM LISTENING TO:

several books – Super Genes, War and Peace (seriously), The Jefferson Bible (again).
Pandora – meditations, yoga music, 70s rock.

LAST MOVIE WATCHED:

Spotlight. Loved it.

FAVORITE TV SHOW:

Last Week Tonight. Or the first couple of seasons of House of Cards. I don’t love this season.

FAVORITE FOOD:

Porterhouse steak grilled by my husband. On a Sunday afternoon.

TRAIT I MOST ADMIRE:

Perspective. People who can look at the person passing on the right and wonder sympathetically whether the driver is rushing to the hospital.

PET PEEVE:

People who pass on the right.
Kidding.
These days, it’s people who are angry all the time.
Or people who park too close to my car. That really makes me angry all the time 🙂

LITTLE KNOWN FACT ABOUT ME:

Growing up, I owned almost every animal imaginable: fish, frogs, snakes, cats, dogs, hamsters, gerbils (they eat their young), rabbits, ponies, guinea pigs, mice. No birds though. But I did run a pet hospital for baby birds at times. Until I was about 14, I planned to be a vet.

IF I RULED THE WORLD I WOULD:

Probably really mess things up with my outrage over outrages.

IF I WON THE LOTTERY, THE FIRST THING I WOULD DO IS:

Call my lawyer.

ALWAYS IN MY FRIDGE:

Can I say freezer? Ben & Jerry’s.
If it’s the fridge – lots of fruits and veggies.

IF I COULD HAVE DINNER AND A CONVERSATION WITH ANYONE IN THE WORLD I WOULD CHOOSE:

My great Aunt Lena, who died about 15 years ago at age 93. She was tough and loving and full of life, and I miss her terribly.

WHAT’S THE BEST PART OF YOUR DAY?

The whole day –
morning yoga
coffee
interacting kids and colleagues at school
time outdoors with my dogs after school
getting dinner together with my husband
night walks in the dark after dinner
beating my husband in Words with Friends only sometimes

IF HOLLYWOOD MADE A MOVIE ABOUT YOUR LIFE, WHICH ACTOR/ACTRESS WOULD PLAY YOU?

Hmmm. Someone else would have to make that call.

HOW DO YOU EAT YOUR OREOS?

1. Carefully remove tops from TWO Oreos.
2. Put one whole Oreo top in mouth. Chew.
3. Repeat step two.
4. Pile two frosting-sided Oreos on each other to make a true double-stuff Oreo. Dip in milk.
Not to be confused with commercial Double-stuffs, which are disgusting.

IF YOU WERE STRANDED ON A DESERTED ISLAND, WHICH THREE PEOPLE WOULD YOU WANT TO BE WITH YOU?

My husband and then two nice, well-read survivalists who don’t mind sharing their knowledge.
