What is Matchomatics?
You might have heard others talking about it in the hallway. Or maybe you remember glancing through your inbox and seeing an email about it. So what is Matchomatics all about?
What is it?
Organized by the Student Council, Matchomatics is a survey open to everyone at EGHS. The survey consists of several questions to answer about yourself. The questions range from your personality, to what you do in your free time, to what your favorite color is. On Valentine’s Day, you can pay $1 to receive your results from the survey. The results will show which students you are most compatible with, and which you are not at all compatible with.
Where do the proceeds go?
Like with many other fundraisers led by the Student Council, all proceeds collected for Matchomatics go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). LLS is a charity that uses its donations to help cure a variety of blood cancers, including leukemia and lymphoma. Each year from September to June, the Student Council collects donations from students for the organization through various fundraisers. One main reason why so many schools, including our own, hold LLS fundraisers is the connection between blood cancers and children. Children make up a large portion of patients with blood cancer. In fact, leukemia is the most common type of cancer in kids and teens.
When can you complete the survey?
Unfortunately, the window for filling out the survey closed on December 20. But now that you know what it is, you’ll be ready to do it next year! Each year, the Matchomatics survey is open the last week before the holiday break. If you did complete the survey, your results will arrive next month, around Valentine’s Day.
With so many students being at EGHS, there are definitely many we’ve never seen or talked to. In past years, students have met new people and made new friends just by filling out the survey. Matchomatics is a fun and easy way to learn more about your peers!
