Throughout the past years, COVID-19 has caused disunity among the student body. Challenging times were presented to us all through distance learning, and the longing to get back to the way things used to be. Spirit week is a way for the students to come together to show their school spirit; a time of unity. The school community is excited in anticipation of the upcoming spirit week. Students are planning looks individually or coordinating them with their friends. With school returning to normal following the past year spent socially distant due to COVID-19, students are taking full advantage of this opportunity to celebrate how far we have come.
Student Council has been planning this special week for a while now, coming up with ideas for each day that will result in an abundance of participation across the student body. Flyers were made to advertise the week’s events and themes. However, the original posters that could be seen throughout the school during the past week did not display the right information. To solve this problem, Student Council officers have been working hard to fix this problem and to make sure that the correct information gets out as soon as possible. They are currently waiting for the flyers to be updated and fixed so that they can alert the students of the changes.
Here are the themes for each day of Spirit Week:
Monday- PJ Day
Tuesday- Country VS Country Club
Wednesday- Disney Day (Character Day)
Thursday- Throwback Thursday
Friday- School Colors/Avengers
Despite the challenges, Student Council members have been working tirelessly to make this year’s spirit week a great one.
