A Greeting From the Freshman Class President

By Emma Macdonald

Staff Writer and Freshman Class President

Hello EGHS! My name is Emma Macdonald and I am the new Freshmen Class Council President. My fellow officers and I are extremely excited for a great year, and already have so many ideas we wish to pursue. With the support of our peers, we are positive that we can be  successful. Our class t-shirts, stating the slogan, “So fresh, so clean, class of 2019,” are already a big hit among the freshmen. We hope that, along with our theme, we can contribute enthusiasm and energy to the school pep rally.

We have begun planning a dodgeball tournament fundraiser for Monday, October 19th. The teams are to be made up of 8 people, and the cost is $5 per player. Spectators can also join the fun for just a small entrance fee. We are eager to hold our first event, and get an awesome year started! Airband is also a major upcoming focus for us, which we have begun planning for over the last few weeks. We are ready to have a stellar performance! We couldn’t be happier to have such great advisors, Mrs. Harvey and Mr. Florio, who will offer many great ideas and assistance to help us achieve so much. By cooperating and working together, we can have a super fun year.

Entering East Greenwich High School, everyone has been extremely welcoming, and we can’t wait to begin adding to the supportive and fun atmosphere of this school. Thank you to everyone who has continued to support us throughout the beginning of the school year, and get ready for some exciting things!
