Every 65 minutes, a veteran commits suicide. Over the course of a day, that adds up to about 22 deaths. All of these veterans took their lives into their own hands, yet they all balled their fists to fight for our country.
The students and faculty at EGHS came together on Wednesday, October 26th, to commemorate these lives lost for the wrong reasons and to raise awareness for the veterans still fighting their own battles. Participants gathered on Carcieri field today to assemble a “22” on the turf and proceeded to attempt 22 push-ups alongside active military members. Those involved had the chance to meet and thank the soldiers who came to support the event in a show of gratitude for services that cannot be repaid.
